Primary responsibility at joining Telenor’s O&M department was to ensure the delivery of managed services in OSS domain according to the contract between NSN and Telenor. Later on with Telenor merging Technical and IT Divisions, I am now responsible for End to End delivery of Telenor Pakistan’s complete NMS Portfolio. The portfolio includes various OSS Systems provided by Nokia Siemens Networks; like NetAct RC, Siemens Radio Commander, Switch Commander, Traffica, TNMS etc. In the NMS domain I am managing HP TeMIP, HP Service Manager, HP OV NNM, HP OVO, HP OVO Reporter etc. Managing a team of eleven engineers to deliver the solutions based on above mentioned products to our internal customers; provide second level support and maintain SLA’s agreed with customers. Maintained a creative working environment for the staff, managed their annual performance appraisals and developed a high level of employee satisfaction through innovative line management techniques.

I managed the development and operation of Micromuse Netcool OMNIbus Network Management System. I also managed a project that targeted the integration and performance management of Micromuse Netcool OMNIbus with Remedy ARS System for automatic trouble ticket generation. I provided support and administration of the corporate server environment composed primarily of Sun Enterprise Servers running the Solaris 7 operating system. I have extensive experience creating and administering user and group accounts, performing network configuration, scheduling regular backups and providing shell scripts for the automation of system administration tasks. I developed shell and Oracle SQL scripts for automatic data loading and updating of application databases. I performed the design, development and implementation of a VPN service infrastructure based on Windows 2000, Nortel Shasta 5000 and Contivity Extranet Switch. The service offered customers multiple capabilities including Firewall, Accounting, Policing, Encryption, DiffServ, Access Control, Traffic Shaping, Anti-spoofing and Queuing.

My major responsibilities included Business Process Analysis, Technical Writer and supervise a team of developers for successful completion of different phases of Software Development Life Cycle. Also involved in design, architecture and application development planning. Technologies like J2EE, Workflow Process, Struts, Oracle Database and Application server are being used in development of this project.

I managed all phases of TNS’ Next Generation Enterprise Network Management Systems development efforts and post-development support. I specified system requirements, designed and developed a scalable and customizable solution, produced user and developer documentation and delivered user training. The system was developed to support TNS’ proprietary transaction processing systems using open source technologies Linux, Perl, Java and MySQL database. In addition to development of NMS, I actively engaged in product support for other applications including Micromuse Netcool Omnibus, HP Open View Network Node Manager and Infovista SNMP Management System. Lead Project Manager for TNS Intranet Web Engine. Development of company intranet application using PHP, MYSQL, and apache web server on a Linux System.
