After getting promoted as a Unit Head & Senior Marketing Officer I was involved in in the Operational Running of the NOP unit. This mainly included

institutions to tap quality students


• Handling budgeting ( with a budget of 100, 000 US Dollars) for NOP activities


• COUNSELLING of the NOP scholars


• Financial Need Assessment of the Students

Some of the MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS of the NOP Unit during the period were:




• Induction of a recording breaking number of 136 students (20% of the total student body in the LUMS Undergraduate) into LUMS Undergraduate Programme in August 2009 through the NOP Programme after constant training & mentoring through out the process




• Setting up of a Mentoring System "Rabt-e-NOP" with the help of Senior NOP Scholars for the 136 Freshmen NOP Scholars in 2010. This was done after an extensive research on the problems of NOP scholars.




• 7000 plus applications for the programme &increased geographical outreach of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Province from 18% to 25% in 2010. This year we identified various effective communication channels for extension of the programme as we formulated a Telemarketing plan to reach out to the areas with unstable security conditions,a Mass Mail Campaign & engagement of current NOP scholars in the Marketing of the Programme.

Joined the Start up Call Centre as a TSR (TeleSales Representative) for Telemarketing of U.S. Based FORTUNE 500 company namely DISH NETWORK. Got promoted to the position of Product Trainer after 6 months.

According to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, LUMS is the top ranked Pakistani university amongst institutions that offer degrees in Business Management and Information Technology. In 2001 LUMS took a unique initiative, National Outreach Programme to hunt BRILLIANT & FINANCIALLY DISADVANTGE YOUTH from all over Pakistan , then train them for LUMS Admission test & then finally award 100% SCHOLARSHIP to those who make it through the process.

Some of my ACCOMPLISHMENTS as a Marketing Officer for the Programme were:




• Conducting information sessions about LUMS & the National Outreach Programme in over 100 schools and colleges in more than 40 cities and different towns across Pakistan along with my other team members in a period of 4 to 5 months in 2008. Through this we were able to generate 7000 applications ( 47% more than the previous year) for the Programme.




• Assistance in coordinating & making logistical arrangements for the Screening Test of the Programme for 6000 applicants across 17 cities of Pakistan in 2008.




• Assistance in arranging Summer Coaching Sessions for across 7 cities outside Lahore & in supervision of the Coaching Session at Lahore for about 600 students in 2008
